About Convertur
Convertur is a free collection of file conversion and utility tools that run in your browser. Your files stay on your device instead of waiting in an upload queue or being stored on a conversion server.
Why it exists
File converters are useful precisely when the file may be personal: a tax PDF, a camera roll, a voice note, a contact export, or a work spreadsheet. Convertur keeps the processing step on your device so using a simple utility does not require handing that file to us.
It also removes the usual friction: there is no account, install, or hard server upload limit. What you can process depends on your browser, device memory, and the complexity of the file.
What you can do
Convert images and camera RAW files, edit and reorganise PDFs, prepare documents, transcode audio and video, open or create archives, move structured data between formats, and use practical developer tools. Some tools use WebAssembly or browser-based machine-learning models; they download the engine and then perform the work locally.

What local-first means here
The file you choose is read by code running in the page, and the converted result is created in that page for you to download. Large conversion engines and model data may be fetched from Convertur or a content-delivery service, but your source file is not sent with those requests.
