Free online document and subtitle converter
Word files, notes and subtitle tracks are usually small, but they can still hold private text: drafts, letters, meeting notes or the script of a family video. These converters read the document in your browser and write the new format on your device, without an upload step.
Turn a .docx into clean HTML, Markdown or plain text, convert Markdown and HTML in either direction, or print Markdown, HTML and text files to PDF. For video captions, convert SRT to WebVTT or ASS and back, turn a frame-based MicroDVD .sub into SRT, or open the subtitle editor to fix text and timing. A conversion may not keep every font, layout rule or style, so read through the result before you send it.

Converting to HTML keeps headings, lists, tables, links and images. Exact page layout, custom fonts, tracked changes and comments usually do not carry over, and plain text keeps only the words.
Both store timed caption text. SRT is the older format that most players and editors accept. WebVTT is the format HTML5 video uses on the web. The timestamps are written slightly differently, which is why one often has to be converted to the other.
ASS and SSA files can store fonts, colors and positions. SRT and VTT have little or no room for that, so converting from ASS keeps the text and timing but drops most of the styling.
