What this tool does
It pulls the plain text out of a .docx file — paragraphs and line breaks only — discarding fonts, colours, and layout so you're left with just the words.
Why extract plain text?
Plain text is the universal input for search indexes, LLM prompts, diff tools, and scripts. Removing formatting also strips hidden metadata and makes a document trivially portable.
What you get
A UTF-8 .txt file with paragraph breaks preserved. Tables become tab-and-newline text; images and drawings are dropped since text files can't hold them.
