Convert PDF to plain text
Pull all the readable text out of a PDF into a plain .txt file — right in your browser, with nothing uploaded.

What text extraction does
It reads the PDF's text layer page by page and writes it out as a plain .txt file, with a blank line between pages. Great for quoting, searching, or feeding content into another tool.
Scanned PDFs and OCR
This tool reads the embedded text layer, not pictures of text. A PDF that's purely scanned images has no text to extract and will come out empty — you'd need OCR for that. Digitally created PDFs work perfectly.
Quality & layout notes
Plain text can't preserve columns, tables, or exact spacing — extraction follows the reading order stored in the file. Expect clean paragraphs of words rather than a pixel-perfect layout.
