How to open a SQLite database online

Drop a .db, .sqlite or .sqlite3 file above. The official SQLite build for WebAssembly opens it in your browser and lists every table on the left. The first table opens with its first 200 rows. Click another table to switch, or write your own query in the SQL box and run it.

Read-only queries

The query box accepts one SELECT, WITH, PRAGMA or EXPLAIN statement at a time. Statements that would change data, such as INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, DROP or ALTER, are refused, so you can explore an unfamiliar database without risk. Your file on disk is never written to.

Export a table

Pick a table and export every row, not only the 200 shown, as CSV for Excel or Google Sheets, JSON for scripts and APIs, or SQL INSERT statements to load into another database. Binary columns are written as a placeholder with their byte length.

Where SQLite files come from

SQLite is the database inside most mobile apps, browsers and desktop programs. Chrome and Firefox keep history and cookies in it, iPhone and Android backups contain it, and many apps let you export their data as a .db file. This viewer lets you look inside without installing DB Browser or the sqlite3 command line.

Your file stays on this device

Convertur reads the file in this browser tab and builds the result there. The file is never sent to a server. Larger browser engines load only when this tool needs them.

Before you start

Input: SQLITE, SQLITE3, and DB. Output: exported table data. The settings appear before anything runs, so you can check them first. Your original file is never changed.

A valid file can still hold the wrong data. Before you import the result, check the row count, field names, text encoding, dates, IDs and a few unusual rows.

Keep the original until you have opened and checked the result. The work happens in this browser tab, so the size you can handle depends on your device's memory, your browser and the file itself.

How to use the SQLite viewer and exporter

  1. Drop a SQLite database file into the box above.
  2. Pick a table on the left to see its first 200 rows.
  3. Write a read-only SQL query if you need a filter or a join.
  4. Export the table as CSV, JSON or SQL.
