How to trim a video

Drop an MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or M4V above. Type a start time, an end time or both, then press Convert. Use mm:ss, for example 01:30, or hh:mm:ss for longer videos. Leave the start blank to begin at zero, or the end blank to keep everything to the finish. Download the trimmed clip, which keeps the same format as the original.

Lossless trimming

The tool copies the existing video and audio streams instead of re-encoding them. Trimming is nearly instant even for long recordings, and the quality does not change. A trim that keeps the start of the video is handled by MediaBunny. A trim with a later start is handled by FFmpeg with stream copy, so neither path re-encodes.

About cut accuracy

Stream-copy cuts snap to the nearest keyframe. Most videos have a keyframe every one to two seconds, so the actual start can land a little before the time you entered. This is what keeps the trim fast and lossless. If you need a frame-exact cut, make the trim slightly wider and cut the rest in a video editor.
