What is AMR?
AMR (Adaptive Multi-Rate) is a codec optimised for speech, long used by phone voice recorders and MMS messages. It keeps voice files tiny at low bitrates.
Why convert AMR to MP3?
Most computers and modern apps cannot open AMR. Converting to MP3 lets you play, share, or archive an old voice recording anywhere.
Quality notes
AMR is a low-bitrate speech codec, so the source is already limited. We resample to 44.1 kHz and encode to MP3 — the result is clear for voice but won't add detail.
