What is M4A?
M4A is an MPEG-4 audio container, usually holding AAC-encoded sound. It is Apple's default for iTunes purchases, Apple Music downloads, and Voice Memos.
Why convert M4A to MP3?
Some older players, car systems, and apps do not recognise M4A. MP3 is the safe, universal choice when you need a file that simply works everywhere.
Quality notes
AAC is decoded and re-encoded to MP3 at high VBR quality. Because both are lossy, keep the source when you can — re-encoding always loses a little detail.
