Barcode generator
Barcode generator for CODE128, EAN-13, UPC-A, CODE39 and more. Check digits are added for you. Download a scalable SVG or a high-resolution PNG.
How to make a barcode
Pick a format, type the value and check the live preview, which shows a warning if the value breaks the format's rules. Download the barcode as an SVG or a PNG. The formats are CODE128 for any text, EAN-13 and EAN-8, UPC-A, CODE39 and ITF-14, which cover most retail, inventory and shipping labels.
Check digits added for you
Fixed-length formats like EAN and UPC need a check digit. The generator works it out and adds it. It also warns you when a value has the wrong length or uses characters the format doesn't allow.
Sharp at any size
Download an SVG for crisp labels and packaging at any scale, or a 2x PNG on a white background to drop into a document. Barcodes are made on your device, so product codes stay private.
Which format to choose
Use EAN-13 for retail products sold outside North America and UPC-A inside it, with numbers issued by GS1. Use EAN-8 for very small packages. ITF-14 marks cartons and shipping cases. CODE39 appears on older industrial and military labels, and CODE128 is the general choice for warehouse, library and asset tags, since it holds letters, digits and symbols compactly.
Before you start
Barcode Generator works on the text or values you enter. Output: Barcode. The settings appear before anything runs, so you can check them first. Your original file is never changed.
The value you enter is processed in your browser. Still test the output where it will be used. Clean formatting does not prove the data is safe or correct.
Keep the original until you have opened and checked the result. The work happens in this browser tab, so the size you can handle depends on your device's memory, your browser and the file itself.
