How to make a QR code

Type or paste a website URL or any text into the box. The QR code preview updates as you type. Choose the size and the error correction level, L, M, Q or H, then download the code as a PNG for screens or an SVG for print. Test the code with your phone camera before you print a batch.

Choose your error correction

Higher error correction levels add backup data, so the code still scans when part of it is dirty, printed small or covered by a logo. Level L is the most compact. Level H can lose about 30% of the code and still scan. Pick based on where the code will be used.

Ready for print

Download a PNG up to 1024px for screens, or an SVG that scales to any size without blur for posters, packaging and business cards. The code is made on your device, so private URLs stay private.

Size and printing tips

Pick a size from 128 to 1024 pixels for the PNG, or use the SVG for print. A printed QR code should be at least about 2 cm wide, and bigger if people will scan it from a distance. Keep dark modules on a light background with a clear margin around the code, and shorten very long URLs, since more data means more, smaller modules that are harder to scan.

Before you start

QR Code Generator works on the text or values you enter. Output: QR code. The settings appear before anything runs, so you can check them first. Your original file is never changed.

The value you enter is processed in your browser. Still test the output where it will be used. Clean formatting does not prove the data is safe or correct.

Keep the original until you have opened and checked the result. The work happens in this browser tab, so the size you can handle depends on your device's memory, your browser and the file itself.
