What is OGG?

OGG is a free, open container from the Xiph.Org Foundation. It most often holds Vorbis audio, and sometimes Opus. Video games, Wikipedia, Spotify's own streams, Telegram voice messages and many open-source apps use it, but iPhones, older car stereos and many Windows apps don't play it.

How to convert OGG to MP3

Drop .ogg or .oga files above and press Convert all. Each file is decoded in your browser and saved as an MP3. On Auto, the MP3 bitrate follows the source bitrate, so a 160 kbps Vorbis file becomes a 160 kbps MP3. Pick a fixed bitrate from 64 to 320 kbps in the options panel if you need a set size. Download the files one by one or as a ZIP.

Quality notes

Vorbis and MP3 are both lossy, so a re-encode loses a little detail. At the same or a higher bitrate the difference is very hard to hear. Keep the original OGG if you can, and convert again from it rather than from an MP3 copy.

Before you start

Input: OGG and OGA. Output: MP3. The settings appear before anything runs, so you can check them first. Your original file is never changed.

Converting audio can change the codec, bitrate, channels, tags and length. Listen to the start and end of the result. Keep a lossless original if you may edit it again.

Keep the original until you have opened and checked the result. The work happens in this browser tab, so the size you can handle depends on your device's memory, your browser and the file itself.
