Convert HEIC to PDF
Convert HEIC to PDF online. Put iPhone photos of documents, receipts or forms into one PDF, one photo per page. Decoded in your browser, no upload.
Why HEIC photos need converting
iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. When you photograph a contract, a receipt or a page of notes, the result is a HEIC file that many upload forms, Windows PCs and office systems won't accept. Most of those places want a PDF. This page turns a set of iPhone photos straight into one PDF, without converting them to JPG first.
How to convert HEIC to PDF
Drop your .heic files above, or tap the box on an iPhone and pick the photos from your library. They are listed in the order you add them, and each becomes one page. Choose A4 portrait or US Letter for documents you will print or submit, or Fit to image for photos you will view on a screen. Press Create PDF and the file downloads.
What happens to each photo
Browsers other than Safari can't read HEIC, so the page uses libheif compiled to WebAssembly. It downloads the first time you use it, and your browser can cache it. Each photo is decoded on your device and placed on its page as a high-quality JPEG, which keeps the PDF a sensible size. Nothing is uploaded. If a HEIC holds several images, such as a burst, only the first one is used.
Scanning documents with an iPhone
If you are photographing paper, the Notes and Files apps can also scan straight to PDF:
- Notes: open a note, tap the camera or paperclip button and choose Scan Documents. Share the scan to save it as a PDF.
- Files: tap the More button in the top corner of Browse and choose Scan Documents. The scan is saved as a PDF.
- Photos you already took: drop the HEIC files on this page and press Create PDF.
Before you start
Input: HEIC, HEIF, JPG, JPEG, and PNG. Output: PDF. The settings appear before anything runs, so you can check them first. Your original file is never changed.
Pick the size and quality for where the image will end up. Resizing before strong compression usually keeps more visible detail. Keep an untouched original so you can export again later.
Keep the original until you have opened and checked the result. The work happens in this browser tab, so the size you can handle depends on your device's memory, your browser and the file itself.
