What is EXIF metadata?

EXIF is data cameras and phones embed inside a photo — capture date, camera model, exposure settings, and often the exact GPS coordinates where it was taken.

Why remove EXIF data?

Photos shared online can leak your home location and daily routine through embedded GPS tags. Stripping metadata protects your privacy before you post or send an image.

How the cleaning works

The image is re-encoded through a canvas, which reproduces the pixels but drops every metadata block. The visible photo is unchanged; the hidden data is gone.
