What rotating and flipping do

Rotating turns the whole image by 90°, 180° or 270°. Flipping mirrors it left to right or top to bottom. Neither one changes the pixel values. The width and height swap when you turn an image by 90°.

How to rotate an image

Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP above. Press Left or Right to turn it a quarter at a time, and Flip H or Flip V to mirror it. The preview updates on every click, and you can combine any rotation with a flip. Press Download when it looks right.

Why rotate or flip an image?

Fix a photo taken sideways, undo a mirrored selfie, or turn a scan the right way up before you share or print it. Some apps ignore the rotation tag a phone stores in a photo and show it on its side. Rotating the pixels themselves fixes it everywhere.

Format and quality

The output keeps the original format. Turns of 90° and flips don't resample pixels. PNG output is lossless. JPG and WebP output is saved again at quality 92, the only step that can affect quality, and the difference is not visible at normal size.

Before you start

Input: JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP. Output: Rotated. The settings appear before anything runs, so you can check them first. Your original file is never changed.

Pick the size and quality for where the image will end up. Resizing before strong compression usually keeps more visible detail. Keep an untouched original so you can export again later.

Keep the original until you have opened and checked the result. The work happens in this browser tab, so the size you can handle depends on your device's memory, your browser and the file itself.

How to rotate and flip images
