How to split a PDF into separate pages

Drop the PDF above. The page count appears so you know what you are working with. Pick One file per page to turn every page into its own PDF, or Custom ranges to cut the document into sections. For example, 1-3,4-6 gives you two files and 1,5,9 gives three one-page files. Press Split PDF, then download the files one by one or all of them as one ZIP.

How the files are named

Single-page files get the page number added to the original name, so report.pdf becomes report-1.pdf, report-2.pdf and so on. Range files are numbered in order, as report-part-1.pdf and report-part-2.pdf. A range written backwards, like 6-4, keeps that reversed page order in its file.

Why split a PDF file?

Send someone only the pages they need. Separate a batch of scans into single records. Break a long report into one file per chapter, or get under an upload size limit by sending a document in parts. You don't need a PDF editor for any of it.

Page quality

Each new file keeps its pages as they were. Text stays selectable, fonts stay embedded and images keep their full resolution. Nothing is re-compressed. The PDF is read by pdf-lib in this browser tab and is not uploaded, so it works for bank statements and signed forms too.

Before you start

Input: PDF. Output: Split PDFs. The settings appear before anything runs, so you can check them first. Your original file is never changed.

If layout, notes, forms, signatures or fonts matter, check the new PDF page by page. A file that opens is not the same as a file that looks right.

Keep the original until you have opened and checked the result. The work happens in this browser tab, so the size you can handle depends on your device's memory, your browser and the file itself.
